The guys at MechanicalMashup have done it again and come up with a really cool and simple idea on how to keep those PVC structures we all like to build but hate when they fall apart when we don’t want them to.

Have you ever wanted to have a bike that was cooler than all your friends but just couldn’t afford to buy the best possible bike?  Well, maybe you do have the best possible bike that money can buy, but is is pimped out with some cool tech? GPS, HD Video Camera, Cell Phone Holder.  What about LED wheel graphics??  Yeah, if you have $25 you too can trick out your ride with the LED Wheel Wrier from Fuze.

Just mount the Wheel Writer directly to the spokes of almost any bike (20” and up) and as the wheels spin, the super-bright computer-controlled LEDs flash on and off to create a dozen different images and patterns – including a real working speedometer.  For smoother looking graphics you can add LED writers to the wheel (purchased separately).

Want to know how well it works???? Well, just stay tuned, Ill put up video after I receive it from Amazon and install it on my son’s bike.

Breaker Breaker good buddy!! Now check this here next gadget out.  I found this at ThinkGeek.com for only $20, and having actually owned a CB radio (the original social media network) back in the day (my “handle” was Blue Moose), I thought this would be really funny and “retro” cool to have.  This is a functioning microphone and speaker so don’t be fooled, but you could fool the police and be reporting that there is a “bear” in the area while driving your “big rig” or just chatting it up with your Geek friends in your cubicle.  LOL  Alright, well I’ll just be 10-10 on the side and we’ll catch ya on the flip-flop.  10-4?

I actually “pinned” this on Pintrest today.

My youngest son LOVES Minecraft and Legos.  I was listening to some of my podcasting friends who do the “Waves of Tech” podcast during my commute today and they mentioned one of the podcasts on their network all about Legos called “Beyond the Brick” found at NetCastStudio.com.  Going back and checking out the podcast I found out that there is an official Lego Minecraft set that was voted on by the Lego fans and supported by the creator of Minecraft.  How totally cool is that?  This set received over 10,000 votes to which Lego gave the green light to make it an official set.  It is available ONLY online and is $35.

Totally Cool Tech Podcast Edition #558 – Nothin’ Left But…

This Episode’s Totally Cool Tech:

And finally… there’s nothing left… but to say thank you, thank you very much for downloading and listening to the show.  It has meant a lot to me .  However I need to let you know that this will be my last regular podcast for a while.  Perhaps a long while, I don’t know.  After seven years of podcasting and nearly 5 of those years with this podcast, I’m going to take a break.  I feel that I have not been giving you the best possible show that I can over the last year and you deserve more.  I did not cover CES like I wanted to even though I had a great time there.  I will continue to work on the blog as much as I can because I believe in it.  It has been a great run and I hope to be able to come back and do the show again, perhaps differently, perhaps on a different schedule, not that there has been a schedule over the last year.

I want to thank two great listeners who made this a great experience: Bruce Barr and Brie Sansota. They loved to let me know how the show was going and even contributed to the show and I loved that.  And I want to thank the podcasters that have inspired, helped, and who I can call friend:  Mike Smith of The Mike Tech Show,  Jeff Clark of Tech Tip Tuesday,  Chuck Tomasi & Kreg Steppe of Technorama, and of  course my good friend Paul Muller of The Caffination.  These podcasters became more than good friends they were also mentors and that is the greatest thing I will be able to take away from this experience.
